Pest control as a controlled, externally provided process: station map, monitored records, trend analysis and corrective actions closed out with root causes.
Commercial / Integrated Pest Management
Every commercial building is an ecosystem. Loading bays, kitchens, backrooms, drains, roof voids and racking each invite a different pest, and each carries its own public health, legal and reputational risk. ASC Pest Control designs and runs Integrated Pest Management programmes that keep your premises protected, your people safe and your compliance file audit ready every single day. Most of our commercial clients run this as contract pest control: one annual agreement covering scheduled visits, monitoring and audit-ready records.
Why It Is Necessary
Rodents, cockroaches, flies and birds do not respect the boundary between the outside world and your operation. They carry Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and other pathogens on their bodies and in their droppings, they gnaw cabling and cause fires, they spoil stock, and they undermine the trust your customers place in you. In a commercial setting a single infestation is rarely contained: it moves through shared walls, service voids and delivery vehicles, and it multiplies fast. Controlling it is not optional housekeeping. It is a duty you owe to the public, to your staff and to your brand.
Commercial pests are vectors for foodborne illness, respiratory triggers and zoonotic disease. Protecting people who eat, shop, work or are treated on your premises is the core of the job.
Regulation R638 of 2018, occupational health law and your certification standards all require premises to be kept free of pests and their harbourage, with documented control by competent operators.
Contaminated stock, chewed wiring, delisting by a retailer or a closure notice from an inspector all stop trade. Prevention is far cheaper than the loss.
One photograph of a rodent in a dining room or a fly on a product line can travel further than any marketing you will ever pay for. Reputation is protected quietly, in advance.
Know The Signs
You need a documented commercial pest control programme, not another once-off callout, if you are calling a contractor more than once for the same problem, an auditor or health inspector has raised a pest control finding, you cannot produce a site map or service history on request, a landlord or certification body requires proof of ongoing control, or you simply cannot say when your premises was last inspected. Any one of these means the risk is now bigger than a spray can fix.
Calling a contractor back for the same pest within weeks means the last visit treated the symptom, not the source. That is a proofing and monitoring gap, not a chemical one.
A pest control non-conformance from an auditor, retailer technologist or environmental health practitioner means your current arrangement has already failed the test that matters.
If you cannot produce a numbered device map and a service history on request, you have treatment, not a programme, and no evidence trail to defend it.
Many commercial leases and franchise agreements require documented, ongoing pest control as a condition of occupancy, not an optional extra.
If the last visit is not a matter of record, the site is effectively unmonitored between sightings, and pressure builds unseen.
Recognise two or more of these? Call 041 004 0037 or request a site assessment — most premises move to a fixed contract at this point.
Why A Public Health Specialist
ASC Pest Control is South Africa's only food safety specialist owned pest control company. Most contractors treat pest control as a spraying trade. We treat it as a branch of public health and food safety, because that is where we come from. Our parent group audits food factories, packhouses and kitchens against the world's toughest standards. That perspective changes everything: we look for the entry point, not just the pest, and we build the evidence trail an inspector expects before anyone asks for it.
Credentials You Can Verify
Contract Pest Control
A pest control contract replaces ad hoc callouts with a scheduled, documented programme that runs all year. Instead of phoning for help after an infestation, you get a fixed service calendar, mapped monitoring devices, defined response times and a compliance file that is always current. For any commercial premises that is audited, inspected or leased, contract pest control is the difference between proving control and hoping for the best.
A site risk assessment, a numbered device map, scheduled service visits, monitoring and trend analysis, emergency callouts, an approved chemical register with safety data sheets, and one-click audit packs on My ASC Pest Hub.
Warehouses, food and beverage plants, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, hospitals, offices, schools and factories: any site with a landlord, an auditor, a health inspector or a certification body that expects documented, ongoing pest control.
A single annual fee you can budget for, service level commitments in writing, and a dedicated registered operator who learns your site. Multi-site and group agreements keep one standard across every branch.

Explore →German and American cockroaches: gel baiting, harbourage removal and monitoring.
Explore →Argentine, sugar and pharaoh ants: species-led gel baiting that eliminates the colony, not just the trail.
Explore →House flies, fruit flies and drain flies: insect light traps, drain hygiene and source control.
Explore →Pigeons and other roosting birds: proofing, netting and spikes for high-bay and roof spaces.
Explore →Subterranean and harvester termites: soil treatment, baiting and structural protection.
Explore →Heat and residual treatment for hotels, lodges and hostels, with discreet, thorough follow-up.
Explore →Structural fumigation and ULV fogging for stored product and heavy infestations, by registered operators.
Explore →Printable checklists, logs and self-assessments built by food safety auditors.
Explore →Chemical Stewardship
A pesticide is a tool of last resort, not first response. Our Integrated Pest Management approach starts by removing the food, water and harbourage that pests need, then proofs the building against entry, then monitors relentlessly. When a product is genuinely required, we choose the least-toxic option that will do the job, we target the application precisely, and we record every gram used. Every product we apply is registered under Act 36 of 1947, carries an L-number and a current safety data sheet, and is applied by a registered operator who understands the risk to staff, to your stock and to the surrounding environment.
Exclusion, proofing and sanitation advice come before any chemical. The best treatment is the one you never need.
Gels, baits and crack-and-crevice work in place of broad spraying. We put the active exactly where the pest is, and nowhere else.
We consider non-target species, resistance management and waste. Empty containers and surplus product are handled responsibly.
My ASC Pest Hub
Paper files go missing, get wet and never tell you what is trending. My ASC Pest Hub at hub.ascpestcontrol.co.za captures every service digitally the moment our operator completes it. You see exactly what we saw, when we saw it, and what we did about it. That is how a modern, diligent pest programme should work.
Catch counts by device and zone, plotted over time, so a rising trend is spotted and acted on long before it becomes an infestation.
Device map, chemical register, safety data sheets, service reports and corrective actions bundled into a complete, current file in seconds.
Every visit, finding and recommendation logged on site, time-stamped and visible to your whole team wherever they are.
How Our Team Is Trained
Our diligence is not a slogan. It is the outcome of a team trained across food safety, quality and pest control disciplines, so we understand your world as well as our own.
Questions
Commercial pest control is an ongoing, documented Integrated Pest Management programme built around your building, your processes and your regulatory obligations. It puts prevention and monitoring first and chemicals last, and it produces the records your auditors, landlords and health inspectors expect. A once-off spray treats a symptom on one day. A commercial programme manages the risk continuously and proves it.
ASC Pest Control is owned by food safety auditors who assess facilities for a living. We understand pests as a public health and contamination hazard, not just a nuisance, and we design programmes around the evidence an inspector or certification body actually reads. We are SAPCA member ASC797, our operators are registered under Act 36 of 1947, and our team is trained in R638, HACCP, BRCGS, GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SQF and advanced pest control.
My ASC Pest Hub at hub.ascpestcontrol.co.za captures every service digitally. You get live trend graphs by device and zone, a numbered device map, your approved chemical register and safety data sheets, and one-click audit packs. When an auditor, landlord or inspector asks for your pest records, you generate a complete, current file in seconds instead of hunting through paper.
We serve commercial clients across Gauteng and the Eastern Cape from our offices in Randburg and Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), and we design programmes for multi-site operations that need a consistent standard across the country.
Cost depends on the size and type of premises, the number of monitoring devices required, the service frequency your risk level demands, and whether you need a single-site or multi-site group agreement. A small office is priced very differently from a food manufacturing plant with a mapped external and internal grid. We quote after a site assessment, because a number given without seeing the site is a guess.
Frequency is set by risk, not habit. High-risk zones such as raw material intake, waste yards and open product areas are typically serviced weekly or fortnightly, while low-risk areas such as offices may only need monthly visits. The schedule is written into your service level agreement so an auditor can check delivery against commitment, and it flexes if trend data shows rising pressure in a specific zone.
Most commercial pest control is cancellable with notice under the terms of the existing agreement. ASC can take over an existing device network, survey it against your risk profile, and either continue or reset the mapping and records so nothing about your compliance history is lost in the handover. We manage the transition so there is no gap in coverage or documentation.
Yes. Multi-site and group agreements keep one documented standard across every branch, with a single point of contact, consistent reporting through My ASC Pest Hub, and the ability to compare trend data across sites. This is common for franchise groups, retail chains and multi-branch healthcare or hospitality operators.

Management systems
Auditors test pest control as a controlled process, a monitored contractor, a legal and environmental obligation and a workplace hazard. ASC gives you the evidence for all of it in one place. Certification stays with your organisation; we make the evidence complete.
